A new office concept in Terrassa: serenity, light and design for workplace well-being

Transforming outdated offices into a warm, elegant, and functional work environment was the starting point for this 190 m² project, located in an industrial park in Terrassa. The objective: to redefine the daily work experience for a well-established company that wanted to reflect values such as serenity, balance, and harmony in its headquarters.

From the outset, the interior design studio opted for a conscious and transformative intervention. False ceilings, fluorescent lighting, and opaque partitions were removed to make way for an open, luminous, and warm design. Oak wood, curved forms, and expansive glass surfaces became key elements in creating a serene, sophisticated, and timeless atmosphere.

The layout flows naturally and harmoniously, unifying the different areas under a single aesthetic language. The large meeting room, with capacity for 14 people, opens onto the work area through large windows that flood the space with light and offer a generous view of the entire office.

The executive offices, while more private, maintain a visual connection with the surroundings. Their strategic location and the use of glass partitions allow for privacy without sacrificing transparency or natural light.

The choice of flooring has been crucial in defining the spaces. In the formal areas—the meeting room and main offices—natural parquet was chosen, adding warmth and distinction. The operational and circulation areas were covered with woven vinyl flooring from Bolon, renowned for its durability and contemporary aesthetic. In service areas such as the kitchenette and bathrooms, neutral-toned porcelain tiles from Florim were used, which also cover the walls, ensuring durability and visual continuity.

Lighting, a fundamental element in all the studio’s projects, was architecturally integrated through indirect perimeter lighting and decorative fixtures at key points. The Lámina model by Santa & Cole brings warmth and elegance to the offices and boardroom, while the Strand model by Muuto and the Dipping model by Marset add a relaxed touch to the break room. Restoring the original skylights was crucial in maximizing natural light, reinforcing the feeling of spaciousness and well-being.

This project demonstrates how interior design can transform a technical space into a sensory experience. A functional and welcoming office that combines aesthetics and practicality with a humanistic and sustainable vision of the work environment.
